Emerge ID branded hero graphic titled “Learning Architecture in Practice” on a dark blue background, showing six connected steps in a learning process flow: 1) Clarify the Problem, 2) Understand Learners, 3) Organize Content, 4) Design the Experience, 5) Plan Platform + Launch, and 6) Define Measurement. Each step appears in a glowing card with a matching icon and brief description, connected left to right by a neon line. Supporting interface-style panels in the background show a learning strategy blueprint, learner journey, and impact dashboard with charts and metrics. Additional callouts at the bottom highlight aligned teams, focused solutions, seamless implementation, and measurable impact, reinforcing the message that Learning Architecture creates clarity before build so learning creates impact after launch.

Product and knowledge training ensures that all employees are educated in the products and services that an organization provides. Training staff on products gives them the confidence to provide consumer support and assistance thus benefiting the organization as a whole. Customers are looking for sales reps that are knowledgeable and informative, it is important that your employees know how to answer difficult questions, and build trust with clients. With a large shift towards eLearning, how should you be implementing sales and product knowledge training? It may be difficult to envision how you can virtually train employees on products and sales; however, when you break it down, there are many benefits to eLearning and it might not be as difficult as it seems!

Here are Emerge ID’s top 3 tips for using eLearning to deliver sales and product training:

Micro-learning

Breaking learning down into smaller segments allows the learners to retain and apply knowledge a little bit at a time. Micro-learning is more appealing to those with busy schedules. Break down learning modules into short 15-30 minute increments with key points that learners can implement into their workflow.

Interactive

While text and videos are a great way to present information, both should be short and followed by an activity that allows learners to apply the information. Interactive activities require the learner to be an active participant, while too much text and too many videos allow learners to become easily distracted by other things.

Integrate Multimedia

As with all eLearning courses, multimedia makes the learning experience more engaging. Incorporating infographics, photos, and videos, can really help a learner to understand how a product works. Multimedia makes the content in a course more relatable and transferable into real world situations. Additionally, you may consider creating links to PDFs or printable infographics that can be used as a supplementary resource for learners that are seeking more information.

When it comes to product and sales knowledge training, there is no one size fits all approach. Product and Sales Trainings and courses should be customized to meet specific sales and product needs and the flexibility of eLearning is actually extremely beneficial in this case! eLearning is the perfect approach to creating a course that is specifically designed for each company and can be easily adapted and improved over the years. The Emerge ID team can help you to develop a realistic and effective training course to help your organization develop sales and product knowledge. All of our courses are created with your goals in mind.
